Big Block Kitchen Soap
This is my take on the traditional Savon De Marseille soaps which are a huge chunk of soap intended to be left on the counter and just rubbed to pick up soap, rather than picking it upĀ and using it the way you would a traditional bar of soap. Savon de Marseille is required to be made with the majority of the oil recipe being olive oil. The balance is made up of other vegetable oils, That's what I do as well... mostly Olive oil with some Coconut oil. I tell you... there is beauty in simplicity! For the French, this soap is used for everything, from hand washing, to spot removal, to dish washing, etc. You get the picture.
These soaps are a hefty 12 ounces at least and will probably last for years. I have 2 scented versions and an unscented version available.... the original, light green one is called "French Field" and the newer one is an earthy light orange soap, called "French Breeze". The unscented one is called 'French Air'. All the soaps are functionally the same. The only difference is the scent and the color of the clay added.
Also, on occasion, I will add shredded soap bits that were trimmings from previous batches of the same soap to create less waste. Personally, I think it looks awesome!
French Field Big Block Kitchen Soap
color: light green
scent: essential oil blend of lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, litsea cubeba, geranium, and palmarosa
French Breeze Big Block Kitchen Soap
color: light orange
scent: essential oil blend of bergamot, eucalyptus, orange, peppermint, and fir needle
French Air (Unscented) Big Block Kitchen Soap
color: cream
scent: nothing added, however it will still smell "soapy".
Also, while supplies last, I have off-cuts of soap that are roughly 3x3x1.25 and weigh somewhere between 4.25-6 oz. I will stock them, when I have some on hand.
Soap cube is packaged in a kraft paper box and soap bars are packaged in glassine envelopes.
INGREDIENTS: Water, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Kaolin (or illite clay) Fragrance (essential oil blend)
Although I sell the soap by itself, I like to put these soaps on a natural stone tile. I added cork "feet" to protect surfaces. For ease in ordering, I have them available on this page, but I will just "take one off the stack", rather than sending a tile that has a certain look. If you want more choice, you can order the tiles here..
