Honey
2021 honey is here. I am currently shipping Basswood Honey. This spring honey has a mild floral flavor with a hint of mintiness. Honey has not been heated and is what I consider raw.
Packaging note: My usual 11.7 oz jar is backordered, so now I am using a slightly smaller jar that holds 10 oz. It uses a different style cap (lug) that only requires a partial turn to open. Therefore, I may add some tape to ensure the jar doesn't open in transit.
We intentionally package in glass for two reasons. First, the jars are not single-use plastic, and second, so that the honey can be gently heated in a hot water bath if a liquid honey is desired. There is nothing wrong with granulated honey and honestly, I prefer it granulated. It is a natural process almost all honeys go through eventually, depending on the nectar sources that go into that batch of honey.
